Folktales will be closing today, December 24th at 2 pm and will be closed tomorrow on Christmas Day.  Folktales will be open December 28th through the 31st, closing at 2 pm on New Years Eve and closed on New Years Day.  I hope you all have a blessed celebration and I look forward to seeing all of your beautiful faces in the New Year!

Some fun new Christmas Crafts!

Some new wool Santas from Wooden Spool Designs

The small ones are designed to go on a candlestick, but I also made some with a "paper bag" bottom to set on a shelf.  The patterns are $9.00 for each size.

These wool Santa Gnomes are designed by "Cottonwood Creations" and are super quick to make.  The pattern is $6.00.  

The wool Snowman Ornament is from "Buttermilk Basin. 

 The pattern is $7.00.

More Christmas projects!!!

This is "Radiant Star Table Topper"  It is 24 inches square.

Here is a close up so you can see Nikki's custom quilting.  

It was $50.00 to have her quilt it.

The pattern is $6.50.  The complete kit is $32.00. 

 All of my kits include backing unless otherwise specified.

Timber Gnomes is a quilt by Shelly Comiskey.  The finished quilt is 49" x 54".  Nikki custom quilted it for $130.00.

Ring Around the Rosie is an all flannel quilt from All Through the Night. It uses 2 flannel layer cakes, a green plaid and a solid cream.  I haven't completed the kits yet.  I am waiting for the backing to arrive.  Nikki did holly edge to edge quilting on it and I love it.  

This happy Santa is from Sew Cherished.  They have designed a monthly series of wool appliques that all fit on this black metal stand.  The pattern is $10.00.

 Folktales is in full Christmas mode!  So many fun projects waiting...   Unfortunately there will be no Christmas Open House again this year, but I hope you have a chance to drop by and get some crafting/sewing inspiration for your holiday projects!

"Trimming the Tree" table runner is done with the "Merry and Bright" fabric line from MODA.  The pattern is $10.00.  The kit which includes all the fabric (backing, too!) and the pattern is $34.00.

Buttermilk Basin has some sweet new wool ornament patterns.

I just finished this 17" wool table topper tonight.  "Hauling the Tree All Around" is another pattern from Buttermilk Basin.  

The pattern is $9.00.

The cute little red truck in the center is $3.95.

This "Hugs 'n Kisses" Christmas Mantle Bunting is an Iron On Transfer.  The pattern is $15.00.  I changed the center piece from an embroidery of pudding to "Merry Christmas".  I have included it with the pattern, although it is not an Iron On Transfer...if you choose to embroider it you will have to trace it or use Transfer-Eze. 

I plan to make kits for this one but I have not gotten to that yet.

New projects to welcome Autumn and Winter

"'Tis the Season" from The Pattern Basket is ready to welcome Winter!  The pattern is $10.00.  I used 2 Jelly Rolls from the new Moda line "Merry and Bright" for the trees and stars.  It also requires 4 yards for the background and borders and 3/4 yard for the binding.  I used the diaganol red and white candy cane stripe from the fabric line for the binding.  It is 56 1/2" by 57 1/2".  Nikki Crisp (360-319-2914) quilted it with an edge to edge swirling snowflake pattern for $75.00.  The background is actually white with snowdots, even though it looks cream in this photo. 

 I love the fresh crisp colors!

...and this new Autumn wool project comes from Wooden Spool Designs.  The $9.00 pattern, "Happy Halloween" comes with 9 wool applique blocks, but I wanted to use this fun frame ($24.95) so I picked 6 of the blocks. 

 I really love how it turned out!

I hope you are enjoying the changing of the Season.  It has been so beautiful here.  Last night there was a double rainbow in the sky.  My granddaughters and I had spent time reading the story of Noah and the Ark and made 3D construction paper rainbows with cotton ball clouds and then out came the double rainbow!  A good reminder that even though it has been a difficult 20 months for many people, there is still so much to hope for in the future!  And beauty to surprise us when we aren't expecting it.

A new wall hanging from Bird Brain Designs "Sheltering Tree" fabric line.  The embroidery is pre-printed on a panel so no tracing is required!  

The "Houses in the Garden" pattern is $10.00. 

 The kit is $59.95 and includes the pattern, the panel, the fabric for the front and back and the embroidery floss.  The finished size is 31 1/2" square. There are embroidery blocks left over from the panel to make more fun stitcheries!

Here are some close ups of the individual blocks so you can seee the embroidery work and Nikki Crisp's awesome custom long arm detail!

Honeybee's Garden is finished!

Here is the finished quilt!  It is a Crabapple Hill Design.  The pattern is $18.00.  It finishes at 38 1/2" square.  It has coloring with colored pencils, embroidery and sweet little english paper pieced hexies bordering the center block.

The fabric kit is $77.00, $95.00 for fabric and pattern. I used Brenda Riddle's "Sophie" line from Moda for the piecing.

The Cosmo floss bundle for this project is $29.25.  The prisma premier colored pencils are $40.50.  Also available are the blending stumps and Jacquard Textile Medium.  A new product that I used are Eppiflex plastic hexie templates.  They are easily removed from the hexies and can be used over and over again.  One package of 75 is $12.00.

Nikki Crisp outdid herself with the awesome quilting.  Her quilting enhances the embroidery and applique.  

The cost of this quilting was only $92.50.  SO worth it!

Nikki has moved to Montana, so now I ship her my quilt tops and backing.  I purchase the quilt batting from her to save on my shipping costs, and after she is finished quilting, she pays for the return postal costs.  Right now she has literally NO WAIT TIME so if you need a quilt quilted she is ready and available, and clearly, VERY talented.

"The Mountains are Calling" is from One Sister Designs.  It was SOOO much fun to make, kinda like a jigsaw puzzle!  Tracy Fisher did the quilting and she did an AMAZING job!  Thank you, Tracy!

There are LOTS of new fabrics in the shop.  I hope you have a chance to stop by and check it out.  Rumor has it that the Canadian Border may be opening in August.  YAY!  I can't wait to see all of my Canadian customers again!

Here is a sample made with a layer cake from Moda's 3 Sisters' Sanctuary Line. 

 The colors are so SWEET!  I used one layer cake and borders and binding and DONE!

Nikki Crisp custom quilted it for $195.00.

This is the new "Sophie" fabric line by Brenda Riddle for Moda.  I am working on Crabapple Hill Studio's "Honey Bees' Garden" and using this fabric line for the piecing and hexies.  Another very feminine and sweet line of fabric!

Sweetwater's newest fabric line from Moda, called "Spring Chicken" has some truly adorable patterns as well.  Looking forward to working on them!
