December

This cute pillow is from a book by Debbie Busby called "Jingle All the Way".  It is packed with fun ideas for Christmas gifts!
Lots of wool applique and embroidery.
This is a panel Advent Calendar.  Carolyn Moss made the sample for the store.  Thank you, Carolyn!
A new Gnome Quilt from Henry Glass.  The fabrics are designed by Shelley Comiskey.  Her fabrics are ALWAYS FUN!  Kits are available.  The pattern is a free download from Henry Glass.
This is a new pattern from Primitive Gatherings.  Lots of stitching on the words and some wool applique make this irresistible!
It would also make a great pillow!
This is the last of the Hoffman panels.
Super quick to whip up!
This beautiful and easy wool applique is from Rachel's of Greenfield.
I love the simplicity of this design.
MORE GNOMES!
These projects are from P&B textiles.  The patterns are free downloads from their website.
This is the latest finished project from Crabapple Hill.  It was so fun to do!  Lots of variety on the stitches.  I have started "Sleighbells" and almost finished with the first panel.

That is it for tonight.  I have some fun new fabric lines in...I will try to post them soon.  Hope you are all enjoying this magical time of the year.  There may be snow for Christmas!!!

Autumn has arrived!

Even though the temperature is still in the 70's Autumn has officially arrived!  I hope you are all enjoying these bonus summer days..I know I am!  But it can't last much longer.  I am ready for a good rain and some cozy nights by the fire!  Here are some fun and quick fall projects I have been working on...
This sweet fall gnome is from Patchabilities.  The pattern is $10.00.   The kit with pattern, fabric (including the backing) and embellishments is $29.95.  The "Welcome Gnome" hanger
is sold separately and is $13.95.

These are 2 of Buttermilk Basin's "Home Sweet Home" through the year hearts.  I have reduced them to 72% to fit on Buttermilk Basin's Heart Stand.  The patterns are $7.00 each and the heart stands are $10.95.

This Quilt was made with yummy new flannels from Kanvas.  I used a $2.00 Villa Rosa pattern to make this throw sized quilt.  SOO cozy!

This quilt starts with a Hoffman panel.  The panel is $23.95.  The pattern is $3.00.
The kit with backing is $49.95.

This is another Hoffman panel.  The panel is $23.95.  The pattern is $3.00.  I switched out some f the fabrics.  The kit with pattern and fabric
(including backing) is $48.95.

One more panel from Hoffman.  Again, the panel is $23.95 and the pattern is $3.00.  The kit (including backing) is $60.75.  I once again changed the fabric layout, but the directions are the same.

Other news:  Megan Best (360) 305-1511 is available to do edge to edge quilting with an approximate 4 week turn around, and Nikki Crisp (360) 319-2914, who quilted all of the above samples, is also available to do custom or edge to edge quilting with a quick turn around.  So if you want/need to get some projects quilted before Christmas, these are your gals!

Sally Ondeck (360) 319-7817 has a
BERNINA B 790 PLUS for sale.
Used less than 5 times, she is asking $8000 or best offer.  Could be a great Christmas gift for someone special!  If interested, give her a call for more information.

That is it for today.  I am expecting a box full of finished Christmas quilts and wallhangings from Nikki to arrive soon...including Hoffman's December panel quilt, a new Crabapple Hill wallhanging and a couple of cute gnome projects from P&B.  I will post photos once they are ready!  Also busy with crafting gnomes and snowmen and Santas for the holiday season!
Hard to imagine Christmas being so close when the weather is so sunny and warm.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Canadian friends and family!

A new season...

It is that time of year when summer is waning, there is a coolness in the air and the children are going back to school...
This quilt is from a new designer, "Laugh Yourself into Stitches".  Education was always very important in my family.  My grandmother was a teacher.  My father was a teacher.  Both of my brothers were teachers.  My daughter and son in law are teachers.  So it seemed appropriate to make a quilt to honor teachers!  It was great fun to make and I hope to get more of her fun designs made.  Nikki Crisp quilted it for me with an edge to edge leaf motif.  Thanks, Nikki!

Here are some more designs by "Laugh Yourself into Stitches":

There are lots of new fabrics for fall and Christmas...currently working on some gnome projects from P&B fabrics...and so many new patterns!  I hope you get a chance to stop in now that the leaves are turning and the days are getting shorter!

I will be at the Red Barn Market at the Fairgrounds November 4 & 5 and hope to have my Christmas Open House this year in the shop December 3 & 4 so mark your Calendars now!  I will publish more specific details later.

August x2

The newest Crabapple Hill pattern has arrived and I can hardly wait to get started!  It is all done in Redwork, similar to her "Walking in a Winter Wonderland".  We have the pattern.  We have the fabric.  We have the floss!

Unfortunately, what I do not have at this time is a working phone!  😕  If you have been trying to get a hold of me I apologize.  I bought a new (LEMON) phone and it doesn't like me. I can't receive calls and I can't get my messages. I have sent it back via snail mail and we will see how long it takes for them to fix/replace it.  I am not being intentionally rude, really!  IT'S  THE PHONE!  So if you need any help/information email me at: folktales@netzero.net or facebook message me at: folktales fabric shop.  I am so sorry if you called and left a message.  I will lose all of my data when they reboot the phone so please try again in a week or so?

Other important info:  Nikki's husband, Sean, will be here August 30th to pick up your quilts that need quilting!  So if you are almost done with a quilt top or have one waiting to be quilted bring it to Folktales next week and Sean will bring it back with him to Montana.  Nikki will return your finished quilt via mail at her expense!  I am sending a couple of fall projects for her to do her magic on.  Will post when they return!  In the meantime, enjoy these glorious days of summer!
