My theme for 2020...KEEP CALM AND STITCH ON!!!

This is a beautiful new Christmas Line from CLOTHWORKS
This is the panel.  So lovely!
And here are some of the fun new fabrics from 3 Wishes...only $8.50 per yard.  SO CUTE!

Not a lot of new projects to entice you with but they are on their way!  Nikki has 2 of my quilts at her long arm shop and two in the wings.  I also have some smaller projects to share as soon as they are all finished!  Lots to entice you as the days grow shorter and there is more time indoors to get creative!  Hope you are all staying healthy and happy.  The shop remains open from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday through Saturday.  Mailing to anywhere in the US and Canada.  Just got word that the Lynden Craft and Antique Show will not be happening in October. 😞  I plan to just keep on stitching away and praying that brighter days are ahead.

Folktales is OPEN! Tuesday through Saturday, 10 to 5. HIP HIP HOORAY!!!

Here are some fun new things I have been working on.  I started with the "Summer Swag" Quilt pattern and when I was finished with the quilt I used some of the leftover blocks
to create the small projects.
Most of the fabrics are from Primitive Gathering's "Stars and Stripes Gathering" fabric line from Moda,
but some are from other designers, as well.
This is the finished quilt.  The pattern is $10.00, the kit is $169.95.  I included enough backing for the quilt and all the smaller projects as well.
This is a new fabric line from Betsy Chutchian called "Nancy's Needle"  They are $12.00 a yard and are also available in pre cuts.
This is a new line of homespun flannels from Marcus, and an embroidery panel for the center of the quilt
designed by Quilt Doodle Designs.
A new line of outdoor themed fabric from Clothworks.  I am hoping to get the quilt done from "One Sister" called
"The Mountains are Calling".  The project list never gets shorter!
This is a sweet quilt I designed for a "Bunnies by the Bay" panel.  My precious 2 year old granddaughter has a lovey bunny called "Hop Hop" and she never leaves home without her lovey and a tutu on, so I am giving her this quilt when she moves to her big girl bed.  I am working on writing up the instructions so I can have kits available.

Here is a new Halloween line from April  Rosenthal
for Moda called "Midnight Magic".
Midnight Magic pre cuts...
...and the project I hope to make with the jelly rolls.
Oops!  Got it sideways. sigh...
I made a flannel rag quilt for my brother's 60th birthday.  They live in La Conner and their house is decorated with a beach theme.  I think this will work well.  The kit is $139.95.
Last, but not least, Kathy Schmitz has a new pattern and fabric line out called "Snowbound".  She stitched and appliqued these little snowmen onto black flannel for a wall hanging, but I decided to stitch them onto black wool and make ornaments.  It has been so much fun!  I have many more to finish.  It reminds me of paper dolls.  You can get 50+ from one charm pack of her fabric line.

The pattern is $10.00.

More fabric lines have arrived, Sheltering Tree by Birdbrain Designs, Studio e's Home for the Holidays and Harvest Moon, just to name a few.  I will try to keep you updated with pictures and project ideas.

For now, I am postponing my 25th Anniversary Celebration.  Maybe August?  I just want to keep a close eye on what is happening with Covid 19.  Always better safe than sorry.  My health, as well as yours, is very important!  So take good care, wash your hands, wear your mask and stitch on!

updates and new samples...

New patterns from Cotton Ginny!  The rooster table runner is a $9.00 pattern and the towel and hot pads are another $9.00 pattern.  These were great fun to make!

And new "Gnome For the Holidays" ornaments!  These are super quick and fun to make.  The $6.00 pattern is from Susie Shore.
This beauty is from Need'l Love.  I used 3 Sisters new MEMOIRS fabric line...a layer cake for the small pinwheels with a few light prints from my stash and Memoirs yardage for the large pinwheels and borders.  It finishes at 62" x 78".  I LOVE this quilt!

And this wallhanging (finally finished) is from Kathy Schmitz.  Snowbound is 42" x 52".  The Snowman embroidery is done with Valdani Pearl Cotton and the snowflakes are done
with embroidery floss.
I hand quilted it with Sulky 12 wt. threadThe kit is $75.00
If you want to do the hand embroidery and hand quilting now would be a good time to get started!

Since Shop Hop has been postponed for this year I am hoping to have a Christmas in July celebration along with my 25th anniversary celebration.  It will all depend on when we are fully OPEN FOR BUSINESS again!  At this time I have decided to open the shop BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  I am asking customers to phone ahead (360) 354-0855 so that I can accommodate one customer at a time and will be able to sanitize between customers.  I am also asking customers to please wear a mask in the shop.  There are no bathroom privileges at this time, all in an effort to keep everyone safe.
Curbside pick up and mail orders to the US and Canada are still options if you can't
make it into the shop.
Fabrics and patterns continue to arrive and I am working on new projects and samples for the store.  Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you keep creating your own fun projects!  Until next time, I hope you are all healthy and whittling away on your stash!

how I spent my "stay"cation...

I have 1/4" ELASTIC IN STOCK!!
I have a basket out in front of the store with 2 yard lengths of it.  Help yourself to one if you are making face masks,
compliments of Folktales.
If you need more than 2 yards give me a call:  360-354-0855, and I will have it ready for you to pick up.  The first 2 yards are free, after that it is $0.55 per yard.

Here is a new quilt from Kathy Schmitz.  More photos below.  Sorry, I didn't get them in order!
I finished this sweet wool wall hanging from Heart to Hand.
 The pattern is $8.50 and
the kit, which includes the pattern and all fabric is $45.00.
My dog and I took a hike in the Chuckanuts...
I worked on a Winter Quilt by Kathy Schmitz called Snowbound.  The pattern is $9.00.  The kit with the pattern and fabric, including the backing, is $75.00.  It finishes at 40 x 52".  I am
hand quilting it.  Not quite finished, but getting close!

I started a brand new block of the month stitchery from Chickadee Hollow.  Each pattern is $8.00 and includes a PRE PRINTED, PRE COLORED 8 1/2" square fabric, all you have to do is start stitching!  I have not seen the finished quilt yet, but I have already come up with a few options when I finish the stitcheries!

Here is a picture of the preprinted fabric on the right, and my finished stitched block on the left.
I relaid all the bricks in front of the store to get them level again.  Oh, my aching BACK!

And I have made LOTS of MASKS!  I made my son a "Crown Royal" one.  I think he is even going to wear it!  If you have a Crown Royal bag I will turn it into a mask for you for $10.00.  I would tell him he needs a haircut,
but I can't even nag him about that right now!
I am spending most of my mornings deep cleaning in the store.  Oh, the dust bunnies!!! SO if you need anything give me a call and we can arrange porch pick up (on my very level patio) or I can mail things out to you.  Still mailing to Canada, as well.  Fun new stuff keeps arriving and even without being in the shop all day I CAN'T KEEP UP!  I don't know how I will actually be able to run the business again!  But I will be
SO VERY HAPPY to see all of you again!

I have a couple of quilts getting Nikki's magic quilting touch.  When they get back I will post pictures of them.  In the meanwhile, stay healthy and enjoy your sewing!
