THE UPS MAN JUST BROUGHT 54 YARDS OF LECIEN'S TAN VINTAGE LINEN!!!  I might even share some...:)

more christmas goodies...and a few other samples...

 These are 2 of the new Snowmen towels from "Yesterday's Charm".  These are iron on patterns.  There are 7 designs on the pattern.  I have a few to do, yet!

And here is another finished sample from "Cedarberry Stitches" completed with Moda's Holly Taylor brushed Christmas prints.

 I love this one from "This and That" called "Farmer's Market".  Wouldn't this be a cute Diaper Bag?  It is super easy to make!  And the pattern is only $4.50.

Mary King whipped up this sample for the shop.  The fabric and pattern are from "Kansas Troubles"  It is called "Twinkly Stars".  The pattern is $6.50 and the complete kit is only $45.00.

 This is Sandy Gervais' new line for Christmas called "Merry Medley"

 And this is the quilt from the book "Little Quilts 4 Little Kids"  that I think is so cute I had to order fabric just to make it!  Some of the fabrics have trucks and cars and helicopters and airplanes...

 And HERE...drum roll please...is the advent panel I have been waiting for since last October.  It has 25 numbered little stockings on it.  Sew them up, hang them on a ribbon with some miniature clothespins (which just happen to be available at FOLKTALES) and you have a charming advent calendar just waiting to be filled with goodies.  I LOVE it and as soon as I get a sample made I will post pictures.  But I am still working on the final appliqued borders of Vicki Bellino's Christmas quilt so it might be a bit before I get this one made...

 And just in case I ever get Crabapple Hill's "Gardener's Alphabet" finished, this is the fabric I have chosen for the borders.  I think it is going to be the perfect frame for those stitcheries.

Lot's of other goodies have been arriving...snowshoes, sleds, lanterns, german glitter glass, new embellishments for santa bags and snowmen, rusty bells and snowflakes...and there is a lot more to come so stop in and see the fun stuff.  I know it is hard to believe, but it won't be long and we'll be raking leaves and getting ready to decorate for fall!  In the meantime, enjoy these glorious days of summer!

At long last...a new post

What a month we have had!  The day after Shop Hop my mom went in for hip replacement surgery.  It has been a challenge but she is doing GREAT now.  All my energy has been spent helping her and trying to keep all the people who have been coming and going fed and cared for...and being fed and cared for by the wonderful people in my world.

Now that she is doing so well it's time to create some fun stuff!  Here are some pictures of what I have been working on . 

A new Snowman Ornament from Country Friends.  It is July so it is time to start getting some new Christmas samples made.  I think he is quite dashing.

 The bottom half of Crabapple Hill Studio's "Gardener's Alphabet".  I ordered a lovely green leaf print for the border.  I think I will do the embellishing stitches on it now before I sew the top half on.  Of course, I haven't got the embroidery done yet on A to L, but it should be ready for Spring.  Note:  I didn't say WHICH Spring!

 And here are a few pictures of "Vintage Rouge" from Vicki Bellino.  I do enjoy English Paper Piecing, but it is going to take me a while.  I decided that perhaps it was a bit foolhardy to start two such time consuming quilts at the same time...

 I love these new "Noah's Ark prints, and of course, I just happen to have the cutest Noah's Ark stitchery pattern...

 Oops!  Sideways.  Oh, well-you can still see how pretty 3 Sister's new holiday line is.

 I have a plan for this line of fabric, also.  There is a really cute Little boy quilt in the new book called "Little Quilts 4 Little Kids".  Always good to have a plan, don't you think?  Even better when you have ALL the fabric and patterns for the Plan!

And here are some wonderful woodsy flannels that I don't actually have a plan for - yet.  But if I get caught up with EVERYTHING ELSE...

Thanks for having a peak at some of the new things happening at Folktales.  There is even more, so stop in and say hi and have a look at the rest.  Who knows what that nice UPS man will bring tomorrow?  In the meantime, enjoy the sunshine and flowers.

 Really love the graphics and colors.  Bought the whole line.  It doesn't show very well in this picture but all of the tonals have snowflakes on them.  And the panel has so many fun images!

I had a lovely break after the WCC Craft Show and the Tri-County Quilt Tour.  My husband, daughter Sarah, my mom and I all went to New Mexico to visit daughter Hannah and son-in-law Josiah.  We had a great time touring and hiking and going to flea markets...Piet and I and the girls hiked to Plateau Point in the Grand Canyon while Josiah took my mother on the rim bus tours.  What a charmer!  And we found lots of fun jewelry, baskets, pottery...the Southwest is so uniquely beautiful.  But it is good to be home and the sun has even been shining!  

And now, believe it or not, it looks like they will soon be OPENING THE BRIDGE ON KOK ROAD!!!  So then it will be PARTY TIME!  Keep an eye on the blogspot for details!

Finally, a blog update...

 Here is a new quilt from Kathy Schmidt's fabric line.  It was a group effort.  Sharon pieced it, Megan quilted it, I sewed on the buttons and binding and Elaine finished hand sewing the binding.  Thanks, everyone!  Pattern $10.00.

 And here (drum roll please...) is Folktales 2012 June Shop Hop Block.  Hope you like it.  The fabric is so sweet.

 Meg's new "Gardener's Alphabet".  These are the only blocks I have gotten done, but it is a start!  A great excuse to get a new box of crayons, and you don't have to share!  My husband sees me at the kitchen table coloring and I have to say "Not now, I"m WORKING"

 CHRISTMAS!  Love it!  This is the new line from "The Wooden Bear".  The panel makes all the gift bags and ornaments that you see in the picture below.  Fast and Fun.

The panel is $7.50 and has the directions for everything in the picture.  The fabric is $11.00 per yard

This just in...

 Here is my "Sew Northwest" Quilt.  I made it with assorted flannels.  I saw a bear when I was hiking this past summer and decided to incorporate it into the quilt.  The tri-county quilt tour starts next week.

 I made a Treat Bag from "The Wooden Bear's" newest patternlet.  Lot's of fun!

And here is the newest arrival from Moda, "California Girl"         by Fig Tree Quilts.

Spring is in the Air!

We are doing some reorganizing and spring cleaning.  The Kok Road bridge is still not complete so to entice all of you to make the extra effort to come and see me I am going to post a special deal for a random day of each week until the bridge is finally open.  And then we are going to have a BIG PARTY!  

Until they get the bridge back open you have to get to Folktales by taking Front Street to 17th Street and then going South.  Follow the bend onto Kok Road.  Folktales is 1/2 mile on your left.

 The new patterns from Crabapple Hill arrived this week.  Gardener's Alphabet is a gorgeous Block of the Month, and there are several single patterns, as well.  Hearts and bunnies and an Easter basket...

And this is a children's apron from Cotton Ginny.  There are 3 animals on each pattern and there are 3 different patterns so there are lots of choices!
