new email

My 28 year old email address has bit the dust.  Sorry if this has inconvenienced any of you.  My new email is: folktales.fabrics@gmail.com

Lot's of new goodies!

This is the newest line from Moda by Janet Clare.  It is called "Collage".  This pattern can be made either in the dark colorway or the light.  The fabric for each colorway is available in the shop.
I also have Jelly Rolls, Layer Cakes and Charms. It has a modern feel but works well with more traditional fabrics, as well.

This is my Shop Hop block for 2023.  I love the fabrics this year.  They are playful and light hearted.
This is a stitchery pattern I have made.  I don't have it printed up yet, hopefully it will be ready by the end of the month.  I think it describes SO MANY OF US!  I saw the phrase on Facebook and knew it needed to be made into a stitchery!  It will go into my sewing room, for sure!
Here are the newest wools from Marcus Fabrics.  They are available on the bolt...I also have prefelted fat quarters, fat eights and smaller pieces, approximately 6" by 7".
This is a flannel quilt I have recently finished.  The pattern is called "Crown and Anchor".  The kit, with flannel backing, is $179.95.  It is 60" x 75".  The pattern includes a table runner, 15" x 60" and a queen sized quilt, 75" x 90".  Thinking about making the table runner with the new "Collage" line by Janet Clare.  Nikki Crisp quilted this one for me.  Cost of quilting, $140.00.
This pattern is from Buttermilk Basin.
The pattern is $9.00.  I did it in wool and cotton.  There is also a pattern for just cotton fabrics.
This wall hanging is from Charisma Horton.  The kit is $46.95.  Nikki Crisp also quilted this one.  Cost of custom quilting, $60.00
My parents were wonderful singers and they often harmonized on this song on car trips.  It was sung at my father's funeral.  I hope to give it to my mother when I retire the sample.
This is a new Moda Line by Deb Strain.  I have made the "Family Garden " quilt and Nikki is quilting it.  Nikki is coming the end of this month so when I get the binding on it I will post a picture of it.

"Forest Chatter" is from Maywood Studio.  It is gorgeous.  They actually carved the patterns in wood and then stamped them to create this beautiful line of fabric.  I haven't played with these yet, but there is a free pattern on the Maywood website that I would love to make...if I can just find the time!

"Blissful" is from Wilmington Prints, and I have all the fabrics to make this free pattern.  The colors are STUNNING.

My husband is a beer connoisseur and likes to brew his own, starting with growing the hops and grinding the grains...he can't make Kraft Mac 'n Cheese, but he can make some amazing beer!  So I made this super easy and quick quilt for him and Megan Best quilted it with foaming beer mugs.  I used black Minkee on the back, sure to keep him cozy when winter comes!  The lap quilt is 41" x 52" when finished.  The kit costs $65.50 and the cost of quilting was $60.00.

At this time, both Megan and Nikki are limiting themselves to computerized quilting only.  Nikki is dealing with some shoulder issues and can't do custom for now.  She will be in the area the last week of May, so if you have quilts that need to be quilted, bring them by the shop or call Nikki.  Her number is 360-319-2914.  She mails the finished quilts back free of charge.  Megan Best is also available for edge to edge quilting.  Her number is 360-305-1511.  Turn around times for both of them are pretty quick.  Tracey Fisher is doing my custom work.  She has a double wedding ring quilt of mine at the moment.  I don't have her phone number but you can contact her on Facebook...and see some of the amazing work she does!
